CANDLE CARE
Our sculptural candles are designed to be both decorative and functional. While many enjoy them as statement pieces, they can also be burned with care. Each candle is individually handcrafted, so subtle imperfections may be present, adding to its unique character and making it one of a kind, like a true piece of art. Because of their unique shapes, these candles may melt unevenly once lit. To protect your surfaces, always place your sculptural candle on a heat resistant, non-flammable surface that will catch any dripping wax. To keep them looking their best and ensure safe use, please follow this care guide:
- Never leave burning candles unattended, blow out the candle when you leave the room.
- Avoid placing candles on or near TV cabinets, electrical devices or flammable objects.
- Keep candles out of reach of children and pets.
- Do not use candles as night lights or when you might fall asleep.
- Always place your candle on a flat surface such as plate, tray, or suitable candleholder before lighting. A ceramic, metal or glass plate works well.
- Trim the wick to 1 cm before each burn to ensure a steady flame and reduce smoke.
- Allow your candle to burn for at least 1 hour to form an even melt pool, but avoid burning for more than 3 hours at a time. To get the best performance and to avoid tunnelling, let the wax melt all the way to the edges on the first burn of your pillar candle.
- Burn times will vary depending on the size and shape of your pillar or sculptural candle.
- When the wax is 1 cm from the base, stop burning and discard the candle.
- Store candles in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to maintain its shape.
Candles are sensitive to temperature and light. Those scented with essential oils may change colour if exposed to sunlight or fluorescent lighting. This is normal and does not affect how the candle burns, only affects its appearance. Wax colour may vary depending on the type of scent you choose. If you are choosing candles primarily for display, we recommend opting for the unscented ones to preserve their look over time.
